We’re delighted to have been nominated as a finalist in the Best Service category in the Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Scotland 2016/17.

This is in recognition of our continued work as sole supplier to the whole of the Scottish Public Sector through the Print, Publishing, Design and Associated Services (PPDAS) Framework.

It pays special recognition to the work we’ve done in supporting ‘Digital First’, which places a renewed emphasis on alternative delivery channels through eBooks, app development and content-managed microsites. Such examples include, NHS Scotland’s annual report, which as well as being printed, was delivered as an online version utilising interactive storytelling. Real patient case studies were made into enhanced eBooks that told stories using photography captured in context, video and infographics to add value and highlight key achievements.

Allan Doyle, Managing Director of APS Group Scotland said, “We are delighted to have been judged finalists for this prestigious award. Our team of 90 staff, supported by almost 300 SME suppliers have done a great job of delivering traditional printed and innovative digital solutions to over 80 different public sector bodies whilst continuing to support the requirements of the Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament. That’s quite an achievement.”

Allan continued, “We’re also extremely proud of our record in supporting employment opportunities for young people and in providing tangible community benefits in support of the Framework”.

All of the entries were reviewed by a panel of judges made up of experts in UK procurement including Sue Moffatt, Commercial Director NPS, Welsh Government and Ainslie McLaughlin, Director of Procurement and Commercial, Scottish Government. The GO Awards Scotland is the benchmark by which progress in this £11 billion plus sector in Scotland is measured.

The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday 9 November 2016 at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.
